Hey guys! Nice to see you again.
See, we're almost always talking about how awful the metagame is just because you have to play pretty much everything that beats that kind of deck and/or play some other meta, otherwise you won't win. Almost always they abuse of some chaos strategy by exploiting advantage of some LIGHT and DARK monsters from the graveyard and keep a high field control by destroying or negating your cards. But there was a kind of deck that have won some tournaments at Japan and can make use of the Chaos strategy, as well as some unusual, like Exodia and Final Countdown. Sadly, this kind of deck ended mysteriously, just like it has started.
We're talking about the Mystic Piper deck:

But there was a kind of deck that have won some tournaments at Japan and can make use of the Chaos strategy, as well as some unusual, like Exodia and Final Countdown. Sadly, this kind of deck ended mysteriously, just like it has started.
We're talking about the Mystic Piper deck:
Although this isn't a card that valued by high skilled players, it's still a little expensive. Well, price doesn't really matters to most professional players, but Chain Burns, Blackwings and even Junk Doppel decks are still making some appearance in top decks at tournaments. It doesn't have a very useful effect to most decks but rather one focused on itself. Having a lot of Level 1 monsters in the deck means another draw, pretty much what Card Car D does, but still having a Battle and a Main Phase 2. Leaving the field open is not a bad thing since monsters like Battle Fader and Gorz the Emissary of Darkness has been released. And you can still have some useful monsters to summon, even if you spend your normal summon on Piper, like Cyber Dragon, Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, Chaos Sorcerer and, if you want to, throw some Caius the Shadow Monarch, Effect Veiler and a Unknown Synchro to adjust yourself against your opponent.
But what is making a deck spinning around a single monster if you don't got some recycling?
Many people may never seen this card being used, but is so awesome, as it keep your game flowing almost forever and only costs you your normal summon, pretty much what you use for Mystic Piper. Being a DARK monster is also an advantage, as it helps you summoning Chaos Monsters and it is a Level 1 as well, which helps the deck. Besides that, if there's one thing that a spirit monster can do is being a prime candidate for Creature Swap, specially when everything your opponent can summon is most likely better than anything you can normal summon with this deck. Sadly, Formula Synchro has been Limited, so this card's best uses has been decreased, but it's still a good way to have another DARK in the Graveyard.
But wait, there's more:
Wan Chan!?
(Roughly translated as "Doggy!?", as well as a pun with "One Chance")
If you control a face-up Level 1 monster: Add 1 Level 1 monster from your Deck to your hand. During the End Phase, if you did not Normal Summon a card with the same name as the added monster this turn, you take 2000 damage.
OK, we're pushing here for showing an OCG card. But this deck has won tournaments even before this card was released there, so this is more of a combo with a card released far before: One Day of Peace. Both players draw a card and nobody takes damage until the End Phase of your opponent. No damage, period. Exactly what this card would do to you. Why brag about this card? Well, ever heard before of a spell with no cost that searches a monster to your hand not based by archetype or even type? Maybe a few, but this is a deck where the effects of non-monster cards only regards Level. Can't wait until this card is released, although is a shame the TCG never tried to bring this deck to higher levels in tournaments.
There's still another card that is not that needed in the deck, but still helps a lot:
Not a bad card: only requirements, just as Wan Chan, but no back-draws. That is, unless you don't want that Level 1 monster to be special summoned, like Effect Veiler or a Battle Fader. But chances are that you will most likely draw a non-level 1 monster, and it's still a 1:1. Or. if you got the chance, you can banish a Level 6 like Caius or Chaos Sorcerer (provided that you have another Lv 6 at the field) and reduce the chances to waste a good monster effect a lot.
At one point of the middle-late game the Chaos monsters can overcome the duel, the Hand will be full as always and your opponent probably have his/her cards wiped out or will be crippled enough to assure the victory. It's still a sportsmanship way to play, as you're not stopping them with something annoying to get rid of, but rather playing in a unpredictable way, relying only in your draws and in your monsters effects.
I could also recommend using some easy-summon monsters that removes a card to special summon itself, but that is for another day. See'ya all and remember: Play with your brain, not with your money.
