Good evening, everybody.
This time, we're here to show some good unsual Spell Cards that could fit easily in almost any deck, but for some reason they're not considered or, if so, they're sided in most cases. Like the last time, talking about two at time makes the subject easier to understand, as well as there's always room for more cards and/or suggestions of yours that we can talk about.
So, we have here two Normal Spell Cards that weren't that special when created, but this current gameplay makes both astonishing. To start, the already very known Smashing Ground:
So simple, so powerful and, yet, so underused in Main Deck outside Machina decks. There was once a time when this card game the most powerful monsters on the field had miserable defense and high attack points and this card would most likely not destroy one of those monsters. And there was the chance that to opponent would chain Book of Moon to save that monster.
But that time is past now, the most powerful monsters that gets in the field almost always have high defense points or, at least, is higher than the rest of the monsters in the field. Plus, Book of Moon got limited, and then it disappeared from the tournaments. The Quick-Play Spell Card used nowadays to save your monsters (Forbidden Lance) is, most of the times, too precious to spend for a Smashing Ground or would make the monster weak enough to be defeated at battle.
There's also the best part of this Spell: No targets or cost required, just activate it and have no regrets. To some people, it's the main reason to waste their few Spell-Negation effects, like Solemn Judgment or Evolzar Laggia or else just watch his/her monster being destroyed. While this card seems only useful in decks that lacks the attack power to overcome the game just by battle, almost any deck could use the power of this card.
Now, for another unusual card, Wiseman's Chalice:
Don't know how we forgot this card even when XYZs made their way to replace the Synchro majority in the Extra Deck. This maybe is going to be the new Mind Control, as it was released way before it was good, probably when people starts to remember it is going to overuse it to summon monsters from the Extra Deck and probably is going to have some sort of limitation.
Gather some of this card while you still can, it's quite cheap in these days and it's shows even more useful in Mirror Matches, except with Dark Worlds. Besides that, who knows what XYZs expect us in the future? This card is already been used in the OCG, so we can expect this card's price rising in the following months.
See'ya next time. And remember: Play with your brain, not with your money.
